HAWKE’S BAY AREA


Maturity/Quality Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maturity/Quality Technician to join our team in the Hawke’s Bay. The Maturity/Quality Technician’s role is to support the company’s growth by testing the maturity of the fruit accurately and by setting accurate “Go” and “Stop” dates while communicating maturity trends to growers. The position will be full-time and will be seasonal initially, however, can lead into a permanent position once the Hawke’s Bay pack house is established. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect or have delivered Fruit Samples from Orchards and from bins being sent to the pack house
  • Test a fruit sample from each identified block within each orchard at as required intervals
  • Enter test results into the HortPlus computer programme
  • Record the Submission Profile
  • Communicate accurate information and advice on maturity trends to growers
  • Collate maturity results to show seasonal trends
  • Test storage library fruit samples as required

The ideal candidate will preferably have the following: 

  • Previous horticulture experience
  • Previous experience maturity testing (ideal, not essential)
  • Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Solid computer skills at an intermediate level 
  • Strong documentation and reporting experience

HAMILTON AREA


Quality Controller

We are looking for a Quality Controller to join our Quality Assurance team. We operate all year round supplying both export and domestic markets, providing product marketed under the well-established PickMee! brand. The Quality Controller’s Position is a Permanent Full-Time position and during the height of the season you will be required to work extended hours. 

The quality controller will work to ensure optimum quality is achieved for our customers and all relevant documentation is completed to comply with Sundales quality assurance, food safety, phytosanitary access and due diligence systems. 
There will be a requirement at times to work as part of the team in the process area during our day to day packing, always with a focus on quality. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fruit Quality & Phytosanitary Inspections
  • Record keeping
  • Reject product analysis 
  • Food Safety systems adherence
  • Health and Safety adherence.

The ideal candidate will preferably have the following: 

  • Previous quality control experience
  • Fruit grading experience is an advantage
  • Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills
  • Must have good numerical and analytical skills
  • Concentration and attention to detail
  • Ability to keep clear and timely records
  • A basic level of computer skills is preferred.

Documentation Supervisor

Sunfruit Group of Companies is a long standing family owned business that is a well-established grower, packer and shipper of apples, pears and stonefruit. Sunfruit Group manages 3 orchards and 1 packhouse in the Waikato and manages 15 orchards in Hawkes Bay. We are looking for a Documentation Supervisor to join the team in the Hamilton packhouse on a 12 month Maternity leave fixed term agreement.

Additionally, for the specific role of Documentation Supervisor we are looking for the following qualities in a person:

Key Responsibilities:

  • The purpose of this role is to complete export and local market documentation and lead a team of Talley clerks. The position is based in the packhouse.

The ideal candidate will preferably have the following:

  • Previous Packhouse experience
  • Previous experience in completing export and local market documentation
  • Excellent time management, organisational and communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Solid computer skills at an intermediate level with the ability to learn an in-house inventory system
  • Strong reporting skills
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Able to work extended hours during the export season (February till July)

Forklift Driver/Order Picker

An exciting permanent opportunity has come up for an experienced Forklift Operator in the Hamilton team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Order picking and general forklift duties

The ideal candidate will preferably have the following:

  • Be Physically fit
  •  A valid OSH and F endorsement
  • Good upper body strength
  • Reliable transport
  • Forklift driving experience including stacking bins
  • Computer skills
  • Be able to work weekends
  • Be able to pass a pre-employment drug test

The hours for this role include 7 am till 7 pm (Monday to Sunday) in the months of February till July and 8 am till 5 pm (Monday to Sunday) the rest of the year. Weekend hours may vary and there is the flexibility to roster weekends off.

Hourly rate is based on experience.
