PickMee operates as a fully integrated New Zealand fruit business, growing, packing and marketing apples, pears and stonefruit for domestic and international markets.
PickMee began in 1914 in Nelson, when F.J. Hall Stoke planted the first orchard.
By the 1920s, the business had expanded into the Waikato, establishing around 150 hectares of orchards and laying the foundation for today’s operation.
The business is now based in Hawke’s Bay, with more than 350 hectares of orchards across Hawke’s Bay and the Waikato. Over time, ownership has evolved, with the Gardiner family becoming majority shareholders and continuing the Altham family’s long-standing commitment to family-led growing.
In 2018, the Irongate Road packhouse was established to strengthen post-harvest capability and improve fruit handling from orchard to export.
Today, PickMee operates as a fully integrated New Zealand fruit business, growing, packing and marketing apples, pears and stonefruit for domestic and international markets.
Ongoing orchard redevelopment and varietal investment ensures the business continues to evolve for future market demand, not just current supply.
